Specialty Stainless Steel for Agricultural Applications

Duplex and Super Duplex Stainless Steel Plate
Duplex grades offer a two-phase microstructure with higher strength than austenitic grades plus excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.
- 2205 Stainless Steel Plate: Roughly double the yield strength of standard austenitic grades with strong resistance to chloride and chemically aggressive environments. Ideal for storage tanks and structural components on heavy machinery.
- 2507 Super Duplex Stainless Steel Plate: Higher chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content than 2205 for enhanced corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. Specified when 2205 doesn’t provide sufficient corrosion margin.
Austenitic Grades
- 316/316L Stainless Steel Plate: Molybdenum content gives better resistance than 304 to chloride-bearing fertilizers, pesticides, and moisture exposure. A practical, widely available choice for irrigation components, sprayer assemblies, and equipment panels where general corrosion resistance and easy fabrication are priorities.
